The Role
A warm and welcoming family in Curtain, ACT is seeking an experienced, organised and nurturing nanny to provide support while Mum is on maternity leave. The role will involve working alongside Mum, caring for either the twins or the eldest child throughout the day, and occasionally caring for all three children when Mum is out or unavailable.
The successful nanny will help maintain the children's daily routines, provide engaging and responsive care, prepare meals, assist with naps and contribute to a calm, organised household. The family follows a gentle parenting approach and is looking for someone who shares their values of kindness, compassion and responsive care.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing warm, attentive care for the family's three children
- Working collaboratively alongside Mum throughout the day
- Caring for the twins and/or the eldest child depending on the family's needs
- Occasionally caring for all three children independently
- Preparing meals for the older child and cleaning up afterwards-Awareness of egg and sesame allergies when preparing food
- Feeding the twins and supporting their feeding routine
- Assisting with settling the twins for naps, including contact naps when required
- Planning engaging, age-appropriate play and developmental activities
- Supporting bath time routines
- Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment
- Communicating openly with the parents regarding the children's routines and wellbeing
Household Duties
Light household duties, including:
- Children's laundry
- Tidying children's bedrooms and play areas
- General light cleaning
- Meal preparation
- General household organisation related to the children

Requirements
- Childcare qualifications essential
- 3+ years previous professional experience caring for children as a nanny or in a childcare setting
- Experience caring for twins and/or three or more young children is highly desirable
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Excellent references
- Non Smoking
Typical Day
A typical day may include preparing breakfast for the eldest child, feeding and settling the twins, assisting with naps (including contact naps when required), preparing lunch, engaging the children in age-appropriate play and learning experiences, supporting bath time and maintaining their established routines. During quieter periods, the nanny will assist with light household duties related to the children.
Additional Information
- Mum is currently on maternity leave and will usually be at home, so the successful nanny will be comfortable working alongside her as part of a collaborative team. Most days will involve caring for either the eldest child or the twins, with occasional responsibility for all three children if Mum needs to head out. There is also the opportunity for the role to increase beyond three days per week in the future as the family's needs evolve, particularly when Mum returns to work.
